In my last post, I shared research about the importance of Retrieval Practice (recalling facts, concepts or events from memory) in learning. Many of us use digital tools like Kahoot! and Quizlet, which provide students this important Retrieval Practice. Quizizz offers the same Retrieval Practice opportunities, but with some substantial extra benefits!
(New tools are introduced at an unprecedented pace. I could write a blog post every day about a new tool! Please know that when I recommend a new tool, I feel the tool offers enough additional features and functionality to justify your time to think about using it!)
If you have existing quizzes in another tool or format, and you can convert them to .csv format, you can upload your existing questions into Quizizz.

What features does Quizizz offer?
Like Kahoot! and Quizlet, Quizizz can be used in the classroom and provides a 'game' competition experience for students. The 'game' experience has proved very popular with students and can help increase student engagement with your content.
Student Paced
In class, students can work at their own pace. This helps students who need more time for processing, as well as creates a more relaxed game atmosphere. You control if a Leaderboard shows on student screens, or if you don't award additional points for quicker answers.
Easy to Create
Search and use existing Quizizz, change existing Quizizz for your use, or easily create your own! You can even add questions from other teachers' Quizizz to your Quizziz right from your screen with a single click!
Share
Easy to share with your colleagues! Divvy up the work with like-class teachers! You are prompted to share immediately after creating or Share at any time using the Share button.
Assign as Homework
Extremely easy to assign as homework for your class, or for individual students who missed class!
Fun
Clever and humorous memes appear, providing appropriate comments. Students really like them! (Really into it? You can create your own meme sets!)
Data
Outstanding data by class and by student.
Student Data on individual Quizizz
All Quizizz with missed questions per student
Integrated
Integrated with Google Classroom. Assign the Quizizz to your students with one click. (Students need to be logged into their @concordcarlisle.org account.) Students can name themselves whatever they like for their screen name, but Quizizz captures their responses with their username for your use.

I already use Kahoot! or Quizlet. Do I have to stop using them?
Of course not! Kahoot!, Quizlet, and Quizizz all provide valuable Retrieval Practice for students to learn your content. The features of Quizizz (ease of creation, quality of data, and integration) make it an attractive option, but the choice is up to you!
