How do I use Grammarly Premium?
Grammarly Spelling and Grammar checks:
Once you log into the Grammarly Chrome extension using your @concordcarlisle.org account, Grammarly automatically provides necessary spelling and grammar checks for all Google products:
Grammarly Editor:
The Editor offers powerful suggestions and assistance for more sophisticated writing issues. The Grammarly Editor is automatically available in Gmail, Blogger, and sometimes Forms. You access the Grammarly Editor by clicking the green G located in the bottom right of the document where you are working. Yellow dots indicate suggestions are available, red dots or numbers indicate errors have been identified.
Google Docs Grammarly Editor:
Unfortunately, the powerful Grammarly Editor isn't available in Google Docs. You can access it by navigating to app.grammarly.com. You can either copy/paste in documents, or download them from Drive and upload them into the editor. Uploading/downloading them preserves most of the formatting.
Don't miss the three dots located in the bottom right of the suggestion! The dots open a dialogue box that identifies what issue Grammarly has identified, along with examples of the same problem in sentences with a rewritten exemplar.
I consider myself just an okay writer, but I end up doing a lot of writing! I find this editor incredibly valuable.
My personal workflow has evolved with me writing a piece and feeling pretty comfortable. I then copy/paste or upload the document into the Grammarly Editor and work through the suggestions and errors. With more sophisticated issues, Grammarly occasionally makes a suggestion that I don't accept, but I do end up rewriting. Then I copy/paste or download/upload to my preferred tool.
I hope Grammarly helps you with writing as much as it has helped me!
